There are a variety of clips in the overall montage of the opening sequence that help to convey the genre. Its includes references to sex, drugs, alcohol, weapons suggesting the genre is action and crime because of all the excessive use of guns and explosives. The target audience for the film is teenagers and young adults because the opening sequence uses referrences to school life and aspects of a "typical" teenage life.
